Local excision of lesion of breast
- Lumpectomy
- Removal of area of fibrosis from breast
Description :
The physician excises and removes a lesfon in the breast. After administering a local or other anesthetic, the physician makes a full-thickness incision through the skin, usually in an elliptical shape around and under the lesion. The lesion and a margin of normal tissue are removed. The skin incision may be closed with simple or layered sutures, depending on the site and complexity of the lesion.
